REI Co-op membership costs a one-time fee of $30 for lifetime access. There are no annual renewal fees. Benefits include a typical 10% Co-op Member Reward on eligible full-price purchases, free U.S. standard shipping on every order, a one-year return window, and 20% off bike and snow shop services.
Do REI Co-op members get free shipping?
Yes. REI Co-op members receive free U.S. standard shipping on all orders with no minimum spend required. Non-members qualify for free standard shipping on orders of $60 or more. Free shipping applies to orders placed at REI.com, the REI Outlet, and by phone. Oversize items may incur additional charges reflected at checkout.
What is the REI return policy for members vs. non-members?
REI Co-op members have 365 days to return most eligible items for a replacement or refund. Non-members have 90 days. Outdoor electronics, including GPS devices, cameras, and activity monitors, have a 90-day return window for everyone. Items must be clean and free of damage from misuse. Manufacturing defects can be returned at any time regardless of purchase date.
How does the REI Co-op Member Reward work?
Members typically earn 10% back on eligible full-price purchases made throughout the calendar year. The reward is issued by March of the following year and can be redeemed at REI.com, the REI Outlet, in any REI store, or via the REI mobile app. The reward does not apply to outlet items, sale or clearance purchases, gift cards, or shop services.

How do I earn a $30 bonus card as a new REI member?
New REI Co-op members can earn a $30 single-use promotional card by purchasing a $30 membership and making an eligible $50 purchase in the same order. The bonus card is sent to your email and expires 30 days after it's issued. It can be used on a future qualifying transaction at REI stores, REI.com, or the REI Outlet.
What is the REI Re/Supply program?
Re/Supply is REI's used gear program. Members can trade in gear they no longer use in exchange for an REI Co-op gift card, or shop pre-owned outdoor equipment at reduced prices. In-store Re/Supply purchases are final sale. Used gear bought online through Re/Supply can be returned within 30 days of purchase if you're not satisfied.
